| I was thinking the other day about how on a skateboard the nuts have a nylon thread guard to keep the nut from moving from the various tensions and how nut guard for fbs doesn't really do the same. I just happened to be putting some Shoegoo on my f'd up DCs, and well, I think you know where this is going...
Shoegoo is a rubber/petroleum epoxy, which means it has a million in one uses including, you guessed it, keeping your nuts on.
You will need: Shoegoo(clear preferably), at least one nut, and a pin/needle.
Open the Shoegoo and dip the end of the pin in it, you should get a tiny amount of goo on it. Then place the pin inside the nut and scrape the Shoegoo into the threads of the nut, then placing the nut on the axle or kingpin and tightening it. Let it set for 30-60 seconds. When removing, just twist the nut off with your tool.
Do Not's: When you are setting up a deck and you get to the wheels you might think "Hey, I might as well put the goo on the axle thread!" DO NOT DO SO!!!! You will fuck up your wheels severely! | |
