Lots of stuff that's been on my mind.

Rounded over sides-

Okay, I have read a lot of different opinions on this. I like my edges rounded over completely, it just looks nice and is nicer to land on when landing primo. BWs don't exactly seem to have rounded over edges. Redemptions, however, are a great example of terrific rounding.

Mikes response-

Mike seems to think that everything on a fingerboard should be identical to that of a skateboard, I disagree. He said on FFI that on a skateboard the edges aren't rounded over. This is completely, ridiculously FALSE, unless he rides Walmart boards. Both of my Enjoi skateboard edges are rounded over. (These of course, were rounded over with the use of a router.)

Kick height difference-

I think both kick heights should be the same, because with fingerboards, its hard to keep track of the nose/tail end. The g12 is an example of difference in kick height.

Mike's response-

Look at a real skateboard.

Mike, Mike, Mike... Rolling Eyes

I'm not saying he's stupid, but not everything about fingerboarding is always the same. Some things are, however. It's all preference.

i kinda liek both equal kicks and skateboard like kicks
the good thing about the different nos/tail hieght is you can determen which is tail or not but you only need to decide that if the kicks are different
But most of the time people just cant get the kicks even so they just say they wanted it to be just liek a skateboard

With Mike, I just think wheels are his thing. I think maybe most companies should just stick with one part of the fingerboard, but this opinion has been defeated a time or two by companies such as YW.

I completely agree with mike there. Fingerboarding(in general) is now different than skateboarding in it's designs because of people who don't know much about the technical aspects of a skateboard.

There is a reason for the nose and tail being different in shape though most people don't pay much attention to it, the nose is easier to do things fakie and nollie. It is broader because it is generally harder to control your foot switch.

Rouded edges: Here I kind of agree with Mike and kind of not. Skateboards are SEMI-ROUNDED on the edges. The bottom few plies are rounded more than the top few plies.

On preference, I think that is BS because fingerboarding is a DIRECT spin off of skateboarding and should be as close to the same as possible while still keeping the variability of real boards.

Something I've noticed is that fingerboards tend to have square-ish kicks compared to most real boards.

Hurrah for Ytrucks and Oak Wheels for designing the most realistic trucks and wheels to date.

Your opinions are your own and to be respected as such. I just think that sometimes people forget about real boards.

Well it's different from skating and fingerboarding, at least for me.

its all preference obviously. i don't really care about realism. same with realistic videos. jason bard was saying how he doesnt like when people put like a nollie tre nose in the middle of a video because that would be really hard on a skateboard, but i rather have like amazing and difficult tricks then simple and easy tricks. but whatever you like

Something that I've noticed about tre's on fbs is that a lot of people fling the board above their hand, which I don't like.

^for the above two comments

I think that tricks on a fingerboard will never perfectly resemble tricks on a skateboard. Height ratio wise, nobody can land a 20 foot high kickflip. As for the whole thing with tres being above their hand, the old school way of found tres normally had it done that way. But it doesn't look as controlled as the newer way.

I think I like the new way of tre/nollie tre. More controlled looking.
