| if you made just some shitty bondo circle mold, dont start with this and this stuff is really expencive, but in the long run youll want it cuz its nearly indistructable and these things are like 500 together, like the software and the money you have to give to use a places machine to cut the metal, and really, its hard to learn so if i were you i wouldnt go for the metal mold just yet | |

| yea i agree, even yellowood didn't start out with a metal mold when it just started, it took them around half a year after their decks became well known. |

| Look guys hes referring to a handboard company, it would run 1000 dollars for a handboard metal mold, because its bigger, the CNC guy may want more because of the size and how hard it may be to produce one of those. Look as I said earlier a metal mold isn't needed at all you follow people to much. | |

no choice , some precision metal companies probably wouldnt really care unless u have their paper readable by their machine. for ur info, CAD is not that hard to use if you have learnt it, and have common sense about frontal lateral and planes kinda thing. it is extremely easy to design a mold, just extrude a block of wood, and then cut the slants to exact dimensions, separate top to bottom and in new sketch, extrude away some concave exactly in the center. form it to fit on top sketch and yea there u go. it took me only around 30 minutes but anthony is right that a metal mold isnt exactly necessary to make decks unless u wanna go hardcore and have too much money. but since most people wont bother to learn autoCAD, forget about the idea of a mold when it isnt necessary at all.. i really have nothing to say about CNC though. lol anthony if u have the money, i bet u will make one of the best decks in the world ^.^ | |
